Sharon
Shihan
Meet Sharon, the proud owner of the OKKA and a passionate martial artist with over 30 years of training under her belt. Achieving her black belt in the year 2000, she has dedicated herself to the art of karate and currently holds the esteemed rank of 5th Dan. In 2014, Sharon inherited the dojo from her beloved Sensei, continuing the legacy of excellence and commitment to the community. She is devoted to making karate accessible to all, offering affordable lessons for students of all ages. An accomplished practitioner, Sharon's weapon of choice is the Tessan, and she has even developed a unique Tessan kata for her 3rd Dan, showcasing her creativity and deep understanding of martial arts. Join us at OKKA to learn from an inspiring leader who champions both skill and inclusivity in karate.

Ember
Sensei
Meet Ember, a dedicated member of our Karate Club who has been training for an impressive 13 years. With a wealth of experience, Ember has been teaching since reaching brown belt level, sharing her knowledge and passion for martial arts with others. Now a proud 1st Dan, her weapon of choice is the Bokken and wakizashi, showcasing her skill and versatility. As she works towards her next grading, Ember pulls information from a range of sources in her tireless quest for martial arts knowledge.

Charissa
Senior Sensei
Meet Charissa, one of the original members of the OKKA, whose dedication and passion for karate have propelled her through over 20 years of training. Having started teaching at the brown belt level, she now holds the rank of 1st Dan and is diligently working towards her second. Charissa's weapon of choice is the Tessan, using her skill and commitment to mastering this unique tool. Her journey in karate not only reflects her personal growth but also her ability to inspire others within the club.

Button
Sensei
Meet Button, who has been training since she was just 4 years old. She made history as the youngest ever junior black belt within our club, showing her incredible talent and determination. Now a 1st Dan, Button has spent the past six years sharing her passion for karate by teaching others. Her weapon of choice is the Naginata, which she wields with finesse and skill. She certainly possesses a mighty spirit that inspires everyone around her!
